News for the week of April 7th – 11th
On Friday, April11th, we will celebrate the wedding of Q and U! We’re looking forward to that! A small reception will follow! Children may wear uniform clothing or dress
up for the occasion! We are looking forward to the wedding of Q and U and
hopefully everyone will remember that Q and U are stuck like glue!
We have finished learning all of the letters, but we still
have much to learn! Next week we will
learn the long vowel rule. (If a vowel
is not followed by a
consonant, the vowel is long and it is coded with a macron. Examples are: a, hi, me so)
In math we will be learning about decomposing 11-19 further,
finish that unit and take a test. Our
next topic will be about measurement.
In reading we will read a story called Max takes the Train.
This is an animal fantasy story and we will learn the comprehension
skill of realism and fantasy. We will
review the letters j and w. The children
really enjoy this story! Max from Max
and Ruby is the main character in this story.
We will discuss different forms of transportation in this unit.
We are now in the last marking period and the time will fly by
until the end of the year! Report cards
came home today! If you have questions
or concerns about your child’s report card or their progress, please call me at
school anytime between 7:45 and 3:45. (874-3661
ext. 3241)
Monday will be day 1 on our rotation schedule and we
will have gym on Wednesday!
The girls really enjoyed being queens today!
