Kindergarten
News for the week of October 29th – November 2nd
Next week in phonics we will be learning about the letter Mm
as in monkey. You can see how your child
did on their first word list test. Word
list 2 is in their folder to practice for next week. Your child may grow a mustache by the end of
the week!
In math this week we will be learning more about acting out
story problems using pennies, naming shapes according to the three attributes
of color, shape and size, and telling time to the hour. We are continuing to do the calendar using an
ABB pattern for November. We are
counting up to 50 this week!
Book
orders are due on Nov 1st .
They make good Christmas presents!
In Reading we will read one of my favorite books Bear Snores On. I have several other bear books we will
compare/contrast this week!
Halloween will be celebrated in school on Wednesday! Your child should bring in his/her costume in
a bag and we will dress after lunch! We
will have an outdoor parade at 2. (weather permitting) If the weather is not nice, parents will be
able to watch the parade in our gym.
I am sending home a conference form in your child’s folder
today. Please let me know if you did not
get one and would still like a conference.
Conferences can also be scheduled at any time you feel one is
needed!
Please encourage your child to try to stay on green each day!
Monday is day 3 on our rotation
schedule. We will have gym!
