Kindergarten
News for the week of March 31st- April 4th
·
Next
week we will be learning the letter Qq
as in quilt. The girls will finally get
to be Queens for a Day on Friday, April 4th! The girls may want to dress up for this
occasion! We may have a small queen
parade to do the queen wave! We will
learn more about combination “qu” too. The boys and girls will even be invited to
participate in a special wedding ceremony for Q and U! This celebration will be next Friday ---April
11th .
·
In
Math, we will be learning how to decompose numbers 11-19. That means different combinations of numbers
to add up to a given number.
·
The
physical exams for kindergarteners who need them will be on April 1oth.
·
Our
graduation pictures will be held on Thursday- April 3rdth. We ask that the children have a white
collared shirt if possible under their gowns because that is all that will
show. The girls should not wear anything
in their hair because they will wear caps and the cap will not fit properly
over ponytails etc! All children will
have their picture taken for the composite picture even if you are not
purchasing a package!
·
We
will read the story Abuela next
week. This story has a lot of Spanish
words in it! Abuela is the Spanish word
for grandmother.
·
We
will work on word list 20 and report cards will come home on Friday!
·
We
started the PSSA testing in our school today.
We were asked by Mr. Jones to switch our special and lunch times next
week to accommodate other grades’ schedules for testing. This will mean we have our special class in
the morning and our snack and recess in the afternoon. I’m looking forward to recess duty on Monday
if it hits 60!
